Procurement and Supply Management (PSM) Toolbox

Repository of tools for procurement and supply chain management of medicines

Developed by: The PSM Toolbox project was initiated by the World Health Organization AIDS Medicines & Diagnostics Services (WHO/AMDS) in 2006. Several WHO partners and other organisations contribute to the PSM Toolbox. i+solutions is WHO/AMDS’ main implementing partner for this project.

Objective: To disseminate information on the available PSM tools and to assist health staff in low and middle income countries in the various steps of the procurement and supply management process.

Output: A range of assessments or management plans for various stages of the medicines supply chain.

Additional information: The online database currently contains over 100 English tools and 30 French tools divided into the following categories: Selection, Quantification, Procurement, Inventory Management, Use, Monitoring & Evaluation, Policy, Pricing and Capacity Building.
